Tell me what you think!

A Manzanita table lamp is the perfect addition to your living room, den, bedroom or office. Although ideally suited to accent a room with a rustic or a wood decor, one of these finely crafted lamps adds a distinct touch to any interior design. These are not big lamps that dominate a room. These are medium to small, designed to compliment  your furniture with a quiet dignity that doesn't demand attention. My table lamps, with their all-natural oil and wax finish on 100% wild Manzanita, add a warm glow to a room even when not turned on.

There are a lot of wood lamps on the market, especially on the web. Most are the same design, a lamp fashioned out of a log or stump, most often from a soft wood such as pine or cedar. These are quite nice, I'll freely say, and I admire them. But I haven't seen many lamps made the way I make them. This is primarily because the Manzanita I use doesn't generally grow large enough to make a lamp out of a length of trunk. Rather, I use a very different approach.

The always fascinating, unique way nature has designed the Manzanita bush often causes it to branch out in many directions and patterns with branches of varying thickness. When I find one with at least three in the same area I cut the joint out of the bush (always from an already dead bush, of course) and then turn it upside-down. I  trim the branches to generally the same length and Viola! - naturally-formed lamp with legs that are never the same twice, and many times never the same even on the same lamp. And the colors! As always, golden wood with red grain, or red wood with dark or golden grain, with twists and knots and bumps, create a distinctly unique lamp that will not only light up a room but be a conversation piece.

Please browse my lamp gallery and enjoy the selection. I note the size of the lamp from the table to the top of the lamp shade. Shades are always included. I purchase shades with neutral colors that compliment the wood, not over-power it. The light fixtures are very carefully installed with great attention to safety. I offer single and three-way sockets, usually with the twist knob, but occasionally with the push button. These are usually on small bed-stand lamps.

As always, I offer to customize any lamp for you. If you find one that is perfect  for your home of office but has the "wrong" type of sock just let me know and I will change it to the kind you want. And, as always, I'll be delighted to make a custom lamp just for you. Please use the "Have a Question" button below to send me a message. I will show you several different raw pieces of wood to choose from.

Enjoy!

Table Lamp L002
This lamp has so much personality! The four legs stem from three branches, giving it a very unique appearance. Each branch exhibits the wonderful artistry of Manzanita wood. One stretching out as if it were growing across your table, another dividing into two legs and the third twisting and full of the knots and bumps typical of Manzanita, they combine in remarkable harmony. The body of the lamp is not without its own distinction either. The grain curves around the neck in beige and red against the golden wood, and when the lamp is lit they shine with amazing beauty. You're going to love this lamp in your living room. The shade sits on a 10-inch harp topped off with a finely-shaped finial.

18" Table Lamp L003
You couldn't ask for a more perfect example of Manzanita in all its art and beauty. This sturdy lamp has it all. The deep dark grain against gold all but pops out of the wood, so sharp is its contrast. Even more, there are deep veins of bark inside the natural crevices so this lamp seems almost to be growing out of your table. Each leg turns in a different direction, making the lamp almost appear to be in motion. I really wanted to keep this one for myself, but my wife assures me we already have enough lamps around the house. The shade sits on a 8-inch harp, crowned with a beautifully shaped finial.

Hand-Crafted manzanita Table Lamp
24" Table Lamp L004
This graceful lamp rises from your table on four legs that sprout from two branches. The slender legs join almost at the top, giving it a delicate appearance reminiscent of a giraffe. The wood is a deep gold with fine red grain on one side of each leg. This is another perfect living room lamp that would sit quietly on a corner table and invite your appreciative gaze without shouting, "Look at me!" The wide shade sits on a 10-inch harp.
