It started with pens. I love pens. Call it a fetish but I have quite a collection. I was looking at my pen collection and particularly at one I bought from Africa, a carved straight pen made of ironwood. The light flickered a moment and then it came on. I could do that! And I could do it better.
And so I made a Manzanita stick pen. Not just any stick pen, but one shaped like a feather. The idea was to create a pen in the shape of a quill pen. Then I decided the pen needed a holder. Then the holder became a desk set with a pen and more. Incidentally, a failed pen, having drilled the hole through the side, wasn't about to be wasted, so beautiful was the feather, that I cut the pen part off and made a feather. You can find these in the Wall And Table Art section. You have got to see these feather pens to believe them. They are shaped from a branch into what I believe is a very close likeness of a true feather. And all twist Cross-style pens that all are accompanied with a free refill. For a new twist, if you will pardon the pun, I am making what I call flame pens. Soon you will find other interesting and whimsical shapes.

| NEW!
This piece of wood sat on my shelf for a long trying to tell me what it wanted to be until I finally listened. It wanted to be a center of attention and I certainly can't argue with that. After I made my first flame pen I finally got the message. The stunning flame shape of the wood is so typically Manzanita in character and remarkable beauty. A clock and a letter opener opener later, this piece finally got the new life it deserves. Now all it needs is a home on a desk of someone who is as different and original as this set to show off that personality. It stands about 8 inches high and is about 10 inches long.
