Wolf's Wood Art: Hand-crafted Wood Canes, Lamps, Clocks, Wine Bottle Cradles

Welcome to WolfCraft. These finely hand-crafted works are my pride and joy. My love of wood and bringing it to life is perfectly translated into the exquisite craftsmanship that goes into each and every item you will find in these pages. And each one, one-of-a-kind. You will never see another of anything you will see here. Someone may have thought of making something like it, or may try to imitate it, but these are Watchwolf Creations. Unique and original. I guarantee it.

Unless specifically stated, everything you will find here is made of 100% wild Oregon Mountain Manzanita wood. No live Manzanita are damaged to make any of these products. Each piece is carefully chosen for its shape and character. Everything you will find is naturally shaped into the final product. I don't impose my will on the wood by changing its shape, I bring the life out for all to see.

The personality of Manzanita gives it many quirks and oddities. You will find twists and turns in the wood, varying colors ranging from gold to red, often in a single piece, with sharply contrasting grains, growing patterns that feature veins and over-laid wood upon wood, knots, bumps, holes and crevices formed in the growth of the branch and cracks formed when the dead wood dried. I would point out that Manzanita is a very hard wood, so the cracks do not weaken the wood unless they are so deep as to cut entirely through the branch... in which case I don't use it in any instance where strength is an issue, such as in canes. But for aesthetic reasons I might occasionally fill the widest cracks with a super-hard secret-formula filler I have invented, making them appear more as grains than cracks. The fine natural finish I prefer brings out the character of this unique and stunningly beautiful wood. However, if you prefer, I have done some in a glossy polyurethane and can certainly make custom items with either finish.
