| This might be one of the most life-like replica feathers you will see made out of Manzanita, or any other single piece of wood. It has all the delicate features you would expect to find in a feather: Light, almost paper-thin and perfectly shaped. The grain follows the contours of the feather as if it were the bird's colors. At the base I have carved the impression of the downy hairs of a real feather. The base is formed of the same wood, shaped around the grain of the wood and shaped to highlight the true work of art that is the feather.

| This particular one is as near to perfect as i can get, but as soon as I say that I'll make a better one. This feather is shaped so paper-thin it's nearly transparent in places. The contours are perfect, the vein up the center is perfect and the shape is life-like. The downy hairs at the base are delicate and fragile. The base it sits on is unique as well. I started with a piece that was rotted on the outside and kept sanding til I got to the solid inner core. What I found was a most unusual color and shape it was destined for an equally unusual feather. This work will certainly start conversation wherever it lands, if you'll pardon the pun.

| This is one of the feathers that resulted from a pen that didn't work out. That being the case I had the shape already and the nice solid vein down the middle. This gave me the opportunity to refine the edges into a shape that looks so real I was actually asked by a visitor if it was real on first notice. I told him I have never had a higher compliment. And so your visitors will be equally impressed with this art in your home. The base was made simply to intentionally highlight the feather, yet so carefully surrounds the grain of the wood as to have it own simply beauty.

| The tip of this feather is naturally shaped into the impression of the tip of a wing feather, having been cut to the edge of the bark of a piece of trunk. That and the remarkable grain in the wood make this piece something to behold. The shape is very simply designed, but then again, so is the real feather it's patterned after. Once again I have cut the down into the base of the feather, adding to its realism. The base is a fine sample of Manzanita, rescued from the scrap bin and made into the perfect compliment for this fine feather, friend.
