| The customer wanted a bright and attractive desk set for her daughter. The idea of turquoise appealed to her as well as the color and shape of Manzanita. What she got was this. Deeply inlaid with both crushed turquoise as well as stones set into knotholes, all three pieces show off the contrast of Manzanita and Turquoise. The set is compact and features a clock in the stand, with a feather pen and letter opener set into the stand. All three pieces are made of the same stock, giving it that completed set look. And, I will humbly admit, she was very pleased.

| This set was ordered as a gift to a Navy Pilot. I had a lot of fun making this one. The wood I chose has a natural twist that suggests motion. While I was cleaning the wood it occurred to me it had the shape of a wing and my imagination began to soar, if you'll pardon the pun. I thought to carve the shape of the wing into an actual representation of a wing. This was my first try at wood carving. The customer couldn't believe it. The clock is small and so I placed no time markers. The feather pen is beautifully shaped in its own right, as is the letter opener. The stand also features a business card holder. I hope he'll let me know what he thinks. As I said, it was a lot of fun to make. and an honor to make it for one of those dedicated to defending our country.

This simple feather pen features a fine example of the use of a feather as a pen. The pen blends into the feather in such a way as to make it difficult to tell where the pen ends and the feather begins. Which was exactly what i was after. The holder is one of the most artistic examples of the beauty of Manzanita you will ever see. This was made again as a gift. The customer was delighted and feels sure it will be well received.

| The customer here was looking for a double wine bottle holder made from wood with lots of curves. I had to dig pretty deep into my wood box to find one that fit her needs, but the result was not disappointing. The holder presents the two bottles perfectly even with each other, tilted at the same angle and facing in opposite directions with the back one just a bit higher than the front. I surprised the customer with something new I will be using a lot more now, a bottle stopper . This quality stopper has its knob carved from the same stock as the holder and is set into the holder with care to make it belong and add to the overall look of the piece.
